With more than 60 attendees, the two day event in the Netherlands has become an important meeting place for the key players of linerless markets in Europe. Many players along the value chain of self adhesive labels cooperated to help accelerate the success of linerless labels.
Linerless thermal sensitive labels was the main focus of many presentations, the table top exhibition and machine demonstrations. These labels are used for food weight scales and logistic applications. Linerless labels for over-the-counter food packaging and carton labelling with print-on-demand is increasing in popularity.
Presentations by suppliers of thermal paper and adhesives, and case studies from already established linerless concepts by label dispensing equipment manufacturers offered the audience interesting best practice examples.
A machine demonstration in Maan’s technicum showed the simple manufacture process of linerless labels to the attendees. “TEGO RC silicone release coatings act as an enabler for numerous linerless label concepts” explained Jürgen Pomorin, Technical Manager Radiation Curing Europe at Interface & Performance.
