New hot melt coater in the RC technicum line in Essen

In autumn 2007 the RC coating line in our Essen technicum was improved by another hot melt coating device. The existing hot melt coater is equipped with a slot die, which is coating the hot melt directly against the substrate. The new hot melt coater head is equipped with a rotating bar which gives a better coating performance and a more uniform distribution of the hot melt over the entire coating width. This leads to an optically improved coating quality, especially with transparent laminates. The full potential of the possibilities of this new coating unit, e.g. the use of various pressure sensitive adhesives, coat weight ranges and coating widths are under examination at the time being.
